making time for you
When your job is all about supporting others within your roles as a daughter , sister , partner , mother , friend , or professional , making time for you can feel like an impossible item on that to do list . We know that carving out time for self-reflection is essential for protecting our own physical & emotional health, yet it’s often set aside .
Let’s not complicate the task even more . Self-reflection can be as simple as you taking a few intentional moments a day with your thoughts. Whether it’s a brief mediation , creating a gratitude journal, examining your vision for the future , or even just sitting with your morning coffee, and setting your intentions for the day , taking that time is key.
If you’re more of a morning person, try "morning pages"—a simple practice where you write a few thoughts , whatever comes to mind first thing in the morning. Night owls like me can consider writing what went well that day and perhaps zone in on how to incorporate more self care into our lives . It’s a great way to clear your head before the day drifts off.
Whatever method works for you, consider taking a few moments to pause and check in with yourself. I hope you make time for you today .
